Long-lasting and plentiful
This was my first time using water crystals. I was AMAZED at how little it took to make a lot! That is, only a little bit of the crystals were needed at a time--they expand so much once water is added. And I didn't have to change them out every day like with paper towels, because they didn't get gross or dirty in my case (keep in mind that I did not have a lot of roaches, just 50). I still have a lot left over. Never going back to paper towels again, or buying the expensive Flukers Cricket Waterer from the pet store (and Flukers adds yellow dye to theirs, yuck!)
